Also, don’t forget you mark your calendar for the Annual Meeting. On Sunday, May 19 from 2-4PM, there will be a picnic at Julie Davi’s house. All are welcome!
Falling Leaves 2013 will be held on Friday, Sept. 27-Sunday, Sept. 29. Please note: There will be competition on Friday evening.
Congratulations to RFSC’s Ken Mikawa for his 6th place finish at US Nationals, Juvenile Boys division! We couldn’t be prouder of our dynamo!

RFSC has had a tremendous two weeks! First, we would like to congratulate Ken Mikawa for his fantastic performance at the Eastern Sectional Championships in Massachusetts on Friday. Ken finished in fourth place in the Juvenile Men’s division, qualifying him for the US National Championships in January, in Omaha, Nebraska! We could not be any prouder to be represented by Ken–WAY TO GO!!
Our Synchro teams have started out their seasons with great success, too. At their North Carolina competition last weekend, EVERY team finished in either first or second place! Here’s a roundup of their achievements:
- Beginner 1-2nd
- Beginner 1 BLACK was 1st and Beginner 2 RED took second in the same event!
- Pre-Juvenile was 2nd
- Intermediate was first – score of 40.37
- Open Adult – 1st
We also have a brand-new Open Collegiate Synchro team that represents SIX Virginia colleges (VCU, Christopher Newport, W&M, U of R, Radford and Richard Bland)! Their season is getting underway this weekend in Arlington.
The RFSC continues to show the skating community around the country how great our members are. Way to go, everyone!
